Job Title: Transport Shift Manager 

Location: Bedford, MK41 0LZ 

Job Length: Permanent 

Working Hours: Working 40 hours per week, on a 2 shift rotating pattern. Either 5am to 1pm or 11am to 7pm on a Monday to Friday basis however flexibility required to work outside of these times to suit business needs.

About the role:  

This role is about leading a team to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient transport operations every day. You’ll make sure our drivers and vehicles meet all legal requirements while supporting your team to work effectively and provide an excellent customer experience. If you are interested in joining our journey, we are now recruiting for a Transport Shift Manager. Reporting to the Transport Manager, this role will play a key part of our succuss journey and you will have the opportunity to be involved in the following: 

Role Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for compliance of all vehicles and drivers. 

• Providing skills required to deliver to customers on time and in full. 

• Providing high quality services to suit customer needs. 

• Providing support for distribution teams to ensure smooth running of operations. 

• Making sure all site objectives are met whilst not compromising on health and safety. 

• Holding health and safety at the forefront of all processes. 

• Seeing the vehicles and crew out in the morning and overseeing the return of all vehicles and crews. 

• To be the point of contact for all real time delivery issues for the crews and to communicate with customer services. 

Experience and Key Attributes: 

• Experience supervising or leading within transport or a logistics network. 

• Experience within transport compliance. 

• Experience route/load planning for an FMCG beneficial (not essential)

• Customer Service. 

• IT literate. 

• Manual Handling. 

• IOSH certification beneficial however not required. 

• Transport Manager CPC beneficial however not required.
