Job Title: Shop Assistant  

Location: Burton DE14 

4 Months FTC – Part Time – 16 Hours per week

We are now recruiting for a Shop Assistant to join us. Reporting to the Visitor Centre & Store Manager this role will be the face of the brewery to customers, ensuring they have an exceptional shopping experience. This role will involve a variety of tasks including customer service, sales, stocking, and maintaining the shop's appearance. You will also be expected to have knowledge of our products and assist customers in making informed choices.

 

Key Accountabilities:

Customer Service:

  • Greet customers warmly and assist with their needs
  • Provide detailed information about the products
  • Handle customer enquiries and resolve complaints efficiently and professionally

Sales:

  • Promote and upsell products
  • Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately
  • Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions

Stock Management:

  • Receive and unpack deliveries, check for accuracy, and report any discrepancies
  • Restock shelves and displays to ensure a well-presented shop
  • Monitor inventory levels and inform the manager of low stock items

Shop Maintenance:

  • Keep the shop clean, organised, and visually appealing
  • Arrange merchandise displays and ensure all items are priced correctly
  • Assist with periodic deep cleaning and maintenance tasks

Experience and Key Attributes required:

  • Previous retail or customer service experience, especially in a similar environment (brewery, bar, liquor store)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic maths skills for handling transactions
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to learn about brewery products
  • Welcoming and friendly to greet customer warmly and create a positive first impression
  • Attentiveness to actively listen to the customers’ needs
  • Enthusiasm and interest in the products
  • Patience to handle customer queries and concerns calmly and efficiently
  • Team Player to work well with colleagues and support each other
  • Clearly communicate with team members and management and customers
