Location: Remote working – with travel to Offices ( such as Leeds, Northampton, Wolverhampton)

Ideally based in Midlands, but will consider further for the right experience

Full Time – Permanent

Formed out of a joint venture between Carlsberg UK and Marston’s PLC, we combine over 300 years of shared values, history, and heritage in UK brewing.  We are now recruiting for a Loan Investment Specialist to risk assess and make recommendations in respect of new loan proposals and renegotiations, in line with Company policy. Reporting to the Loan Investment Manager.

Key Accountabilities:

• Loan risk assessment, to include financial and security analysis
• Undertake and interpret Credit Searches, Compliance Checks, and 3rd Party Screening
• Ensure OnTrak’s are accurate, achievable and produce returns in line with lending policy
• Prepare loan agreements and offer letters, plus Personal/Corporate Guarantees where required
• Attend customer meetings when required, to interrogate information and gain a full understanding of circumstances
• Monitor reporting in respect of loan performance – working with sales colleagues to ensure loans perform in accordance contractual obligations, making recommendations in respect of remedial action where necessary
• Assist with review of the monthly Bad Debt Provision (BDP), managing risk & exposure and developing plans to either resolve issues, or refer for recovery
• Provide ongoing support to Sales colleagues, including attending sales meetings and 121 training
• Review all Indirect Investment proposals
• Provide support to Loans Team, ensuring service standards are maintained, and team is fully conversant with current policy, undertaking risk assessment and recommendations in the manner expected
• Provide regular accurate reportage to Management Team
• Cross functional support, working closely with colleagues in Credit, Legal, Collections, Recoveries, and other functions

Experience and Key Attributes:

• Ability to interpret financial reports, loan documentation and legal correspondence
• Excellent communication skills including presenting, report writing, summaries to line management / senior management.
• Ability to prioritise without need for referral and to be able to work alone or in a team
• Self-motivated, flexible and commercially minded, with excellent time management skills and attention to detail
• Working knowledge of SAP and Office 365 is desirable
• Demonstrable experience of Commercial Lending, preferably within the Licenced Trade
• Aptitude for problem solving with the ability to work using their own initiative
• Experience of managing senior stakeholder relationships within the business and externally
• Awareness of Money Laundering, fraud prevention and regulatory requirements
• Experience of working in an organisation which is fast paced, demanding and results driven
