Carlsberg Britvic is the largest multi-beverage supplier in the UK and is home to some of the most iconic and popular beers & soft drinks, including Carlsberg Danish Pilsner, 1664, Poretti and Brooklyn to ale favourites such as Hobgoblin and Wainwright. For soft drinks, Carlsberg Britvic’s brands include J2O, Robinsons, Tango and London Essence along with the licence rights to the Pepsi portfolio in the UK including Pepsi MAX, 7UP, Lipton Iced Tea and Rockstar Energy.
With a strong national footprint, the Carlsberg Britvic business includes 5 production facilities and 16 logistics depot’s servicing customers up and down the UK. As these two historical businesses have come together, the one common goal remains, and that is ensuring our people succeed.
About the role:
We are now recruiting for a National Account Manager – Managed Convenience Tesco, reporting into the National Account Controller for Beer. In this newly created role, it will enable the opportunity to manage both the Soft drinks & Beer portfolios across Tesco’s convenience formats. This role would be a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to step into Grocery and gain some incredible experience building their career as an Account Manager.
Role Responsibilities:
- Create and own a cross-functional contact strategy across Tesco, building strong, influential relationships that deliver a clear competitive advantage for Carlsberg Britvic.
- Lead the design and execution of the Tesco Managed Convenience strategy, delivering Year 1 priorities while shaping a long‑term growth roadmap.
- Develop a customer‑centric strategy to unlock the Total Beverages opportunity in Tesco, using occasion‑led insights to drive incremental sales.
- Build comprehensive knowledge of Tesco’s operating landscape—including Whoosh, Marketplace, Express and Online—to enhance planning accuracy and execution quality.
- Create and manage end-to-end project plans for priority initiatives, ensuring key milestones align with Tesco’s commercial timelines and longer-term Y1–Y3 goals.
- Act as the key connector between Carlsberg Britvic and Tesco commercial teams, maintaining a strong feedback loop through both structured meetings and informal communication to keep plans on track.
- Partner with internal teams to identify and scale growth opportunities in Tesco Express across Beer & Soft Drinks, leveraging Tesco’s network to improve execution and accelerate strategic initiatives (e.g., meal deals, secondary chillers, day-part merchandising).
Experience and Key Attributes:
- Proven experience in a similar role within an FMCG business
- Strong customer‑relationship skills from previous sales roles
- Solid understanding of go‑to‑market levers
- Analytical strength with good numeracy and commercial awareness
- Ability to influence and build trust with key stakeholders
- Clear, action‑oriented customer insight delivery
- Proactive, self‑starting approach that connects teams
- Confident presentation and communication skills
- Category insight expertise and growth‑focused recommendations (e.g., occasions)
