About the role:

We are now recruiting for a Microbiology Lab Technician. Reporting into the Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor, this role will conduct microbiological sampling and analysis and responsible for the interpretation of the results, data reporting and food safety systems.

Role Responsibilities:

Carrying out microbiological sampling and testing in line with defined plans.
Analysing in-process and finished products to support investigations and drive improvements.
Identifying brewery micro-organisms with accuracy and confidence.
Supporting yeast management and propagation alongside the QA Specialist.
Monitoring results, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with production teams.
Recording and reporting data, contributing to regular performance insights.
Maintaining high lab hygiene, 5S standards, and quality systems compliance.
Supporting HACCP processes and audit readiness.
Contributing to SOPs and continuous improvement initiatives using lean principles.
Managing lab stock and supporting smooth day-to-day operations.
Sharing knowledge and continuously developing your own microbiology expertise.

Experience and Key Attributes:

Science A Levels or extensive experience within a microbiology laboratory in an FMCG environment.
Understanding of BRC, ISC 9001 and 22000.
Self-motivated with strong organisational skills.
Adequate and relevant brewing & processing knowledge preferred.
Confident to work independently and as part of a team.
Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
