Carlsberg Marston’s Brewing Company is one of the newest, historic brewers in the UK. Formed out of a joint venture between Carlsberg UK and Marston’s PLC, who are both shareholders, we combine over 300 years of shared values, history and heritage in UK brewing.

We are now recruiting for a Capability Manager to join us. Reporting to Head of Brewing and Processing this role will Responsible for ensuring the brewery is safe and legal to brew through compliance training




Key Accountabilities:


  • Develop the compliance and skills development plan that meets the current and future plans of Northampton Brewery.
  • Ensure that Carlsberg UK complies with all legislation by providing all Mandatory training to its employees and keeping accurate records to demonstrate our compliance
  • Work with Department / Shift Managers to ensure that teams have the right skills to be able to work effectively and within legislation requirements
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of development at Northampton Brewery to ensure that the delivery meets the needs of the business.
  • Regularly review the development solutions to ensure they are cost effective and producing the best possible results.
  • Conduct inductions for all new starters to ensure that they comply with all H&S requirements 
  • Support the development of standardised processes across the Brewery
  • Work with the Quality Team and demonstrate to BRC, LRQA and Morrison’s auditors that we fully comply with ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 and provide tangible evidence
  • Develop the capability within Production to be able to deliver training through train the trainers
  • Develop a network with other Carlsberg sites both in the UK and the wider group to ensure we are aligned on training and development priorities and thinking
  • Develop a LMS systems to capture all employee’s training records and provide functional reports




Experience and Key Attributes required:


•A good understanding of the production, packaging and engineering processes

•Good financial understanding

•Have a good understanding of ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 requirements

•Training design and delivery skills to be able to train and coach individuals or groups

•Develop positive relationships through effective communication and feedback

•Be able to adapt to the audience and communicate to all levels of the organisation with good written and verbal communication skills

•Project management skills

•IT skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Access
