About the role:
As Supply Chain Finance Analyst, you will work together with the Senior Finance Manager Procurement and Procurement Finance Business Partner along with peers across Supply Chain Finance. This will include supporting the control, accounting and governance of Primes cost accounting for GB & Ireland, including month end close process and reporting and balance sheet reconciliations. You will also provide support on standard costing process (both annual and BAU) and ensuring the integrity and accuracy of transfer pricing for other Business Units.
Role Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of robust financial controls and governance across Supply Chain Finance, ensuring processes are documented, understood and consistently applied.
- Assist in the management and continuous improvement of key financial processes, including Standard Costing, Transfer Pricing, Supply Chain Process Accounting, Month-End Close and Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
- Support monthly financial reporting activities, including journal postings, accruals, reconciliations and variance analysis, ensuring accurate and timely financial information.
- Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting process by providing financial analysis, identifying risks and opportunities, and supporting the delivery of realistic financial plans.
- Calculate and maintain standard costs for products, co-packed items and new product developments, ensuring accurate information is available for transfer pricing calculations.
- Partner with Finance, Supply Chain and Procurement teams to improve understanding of business performance and support informed decision-making.
- Support the translation of Supply Chain Finance budgets into operational standards and performance measures.
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes, strengthen controls and improve the quality of financial reporting and management information.
- Build strong working relationships with Supply Chain Finance and FP&A teams to support budget, forecast and performance management activities.
- Support internal and external audits, risk management activities and compliance requirements.
- Provide cover for the Procurement Finance Business Partner when required and contribute to ad hoc projects and business initiatives.
- Take ownership of personal development, continuously building technical accounting, finance and supply chain knowledge.
Experience and Key Attributes:
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role involving cost control, financial reporting and analysis, ideally within a Supply Chain, Manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, with experience of month-end close activities, including journals, accruals, reconciliations and P&L analysis.
- ACCA qualified, part-qualified, studying towards ACCA, or able to demonstrate equivalent technical accounting experience.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyse and manipulate large volumes of financial data accurately.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, taking ownership and accountability for outcomes.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to summarise and present financial information clearly both verbally and in writing.
- A proactive approach to problem solving, with the confidence to challenge, investigate issues and drive them through to resolution.
