Job Length: Permanent

Working Hours: 45 hours per week. Working around the core hours of 8am to 6pm on a Monday to Friday basis. Flexibility to work around these hours to suit business needs

About the role:

We’re looking for an experienced stock management professional who knows how to keep inventory accurate and processes watertight. In this role, you’ll lead the charge on stock control at West Thurrock, making sure every count is correct, every return is processed efficiently, and every process is followed to the letter. If you are interested in joining our journey, we are now recruiting for a Stock Control Manager. Reporting to the Depot Manager, this role will play a key part of our succuss journey and you will have the opportunity to be involved in the following:

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Disciplined and resourceful leader with the capacity to prioritise tasks and balance responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Builds a high-performance culture with high levels of personal accountability, ownership, and a consistent focus on performance.
  • Ability to communicate key process to numerous stakeholders.
  • Monitor physical inventory across the site to ensure that a perpetual inventory is achieved on a timely basis. The fundamental aim of which is to ensure Stock loss minimisation and accuracy for customer invoicing.
  • Ensure that reverse logistics of returns are processed in a timely manner with regard for the resource requirement at receiving depot(s).
  • Act as a point of escalation for any nonconforming product returns / warehouse ullage either not collected or where stock has been returned but credit has not been received.
  • Where appropriate escalating non-conforming suppliers to the network stock team etc.
  • Ensure that all stock and SAP processes are completed according to SOP. You will also act as a key contact for the Stock Planning team for the site.
  • Investigate inventory shrinkage and provide feedback to the logistics management team where breakages and stock loss is above acceptable threshold.
  • Support a continuous improvement culture and deliver improvement programmes across the site. Identify savings by removing waste or unnecessary steps in the Supply Chain processes whilst ensuring service levels are improved with consideration for Health & Safety.
  • Lead, support and develop a team of 3 Stock Administrators, providing regular 1-2-1 support, performance reviews, objective setting, guidance and motivation to drive individual and team success.

 

Experience and Key Attributes:

  • Previous experience working within a Stock Management role.
  • Experience of designing and implementing stock control processes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to use data and systems to facilitate performance and improvement.
  • An interest in customer service and continuous improvement, with the willingness to learn and share best practices.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire your team and stakeholders.
  • Previous experience working within warehouse or stock administration is essential.
  • Experience managing or supervising both people and processes is desired.
  • IT Literate with experience using MS Office essential and SAP preferred.
