We are currently looking for talented IP Consultant to support our IP (Intellectual Property) processes with the expertise and skills.


Meet the team

As IP Consultant in Carlsberg you will be part of a global team consisting of designated lawyers and paralegals from the Carlsberg Group Legal & Compliance network who are specialized in IP. The IP team is a central function with the goal of protecting and enforcing Carlsberg Group rights which are also some of the Group’s most important assets. 

 

Your responsibilities will include…

  • managing the Group’s existing global portfolios of trademarks, designs and domain names;
  • ensuring the relevant protection, surveillance and maintenance of global IP rights in all relevant markets with a strategic, but cost-efficient approach;
  • providing timely and solution-oriented IP advice and services to Group departments and local companies in cooperation and alignment with colleagues in other regions;
  • ensuring freedom to operate for new brands and line extensions/existing brands in new markets by conducting appropriate clearance;
  • preferably assisting Group Head of IP in taking appropriate legal action against infringement of the Carlsberg Group’s trademark rights;
  • participate in building awareness and capabilities in brand/IP protection throughout the Group;
  • manage network of external vendors (agents, database, search and surveillance providers etc.) on a global scale with a strong focus on cost efficiency;
  • maintaining the database of the Carlsberg Group’s trademark and design rights, including implementing relevant procedures within the team and vis-à-vis local companies;
  • assisting Group Head of IP in implementing processes and preparing relevant templates. 
  • handling of documents and invoicing; 
  • when possible, international travel is expected amongst others for visiting the Group’s central office.

 

We are looking for a person who…

  •     has a Master’s degree in law and/or other academic education;
  •  has experience with IP work from previous position inhouse or in a law firm or trademark agency;
  • is able to work independently and proactively with a positive and solution-oriented attitude towards stakeholders, internally and externally;
  • presents a strong mindset towards structuring work processes and preparing templates and implementation of the same;
  • demonstrates strong communication skills all of which are required to provide proper IP advice to and ensure awareness of IP within the Group;
  • has commercial and financial understanding and ability to manage costs effectively, with the right focus and relevant risk appetite; 
  • has an eye for the detail and analytical competencies;
  • shows ability to work under tight deadlines with keeping the focus;
  • is agile and adaptable to change in order to follow the priorities of the business and its ongoing development;
  • is capable to maintain and expand use of database and other digital tools;
  • has an excellent command of written and spoken English; understanding of French and/or Russian would be an advantage but not a requirement;
  • is a good team player with a sense of humor, never feeling too proud to roll up the sleeves and get the job done.
