The scope of the Regional Category Manager Packaging WE is to handle the definition and implementation of category strategies within our Western European and SEB (Southeast Europe & Balkans) region. The RCM brings expertise directly to the day-to-day work on regional and local basis.

 

The RCM is primarily responsible for understanding local business needs and connecting these to the supply markets, to fulfil local purchasing needs, lead local implementation, and local stakeholder management on an ongoing basis.

 

The job focuses on strategic tasks such as definition of sourcing strategy, project management, new supplier approvals, price negotiation, Supplier Relationship Management, contract management, etc.

 

The RCM is expected to provide best ratio between price, quality and ensuring supply of all goods and services in scope and requires close cooperation with the Global & Regional Senior Management, Category Directors, Category Managers, Country Procurement members, as well as, with other relevant stakeholders in Carlsberg Group's central and local business units. The RCM delivers category value improvement initiatives as agreed with the Category Director. This may be delivered leading / working with cross functional teams.

 

The position will be based in 8866 Ziegelbrücke (greater area Zurich), Switzerland. The required skills & competencies to succeed in this role are:

  • General understanding of financial assessment
  • Common knowledge about e-auction development and execution
  • Direct experience with legal contract management
  • Strong supplier negotiation skills
  • General understanding of Supply Chain Management and LEAN tools
  • Experience with Supplier Relationship Management
  • Ability to assess risk, handle claims and solve related issues
  • Thorough knowledge about governance/policies & procedures
  • General understanding of CSR

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience within all aspects of strategic & tactical procurement on regional or global level
  • International work experience in related industry, FMCGs within packaging materials category, preferably in virtual team

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

 

Language:

  • Fluent in English language (spoken and written)

 

Job responsibilities:

  • Lead regional strategy definition and implementation in countries in alignment with local stakeholders and the Country Procurement teams
  • Preparation and execution of RFx in cooperation with, local stakeholders and the Country Procurement teams
  • Lead NPI/NPD, value engineering and sourcing activities in accordance with Carlsberg’s standardized sourcing process
  • Collect local TCO input and ensure regular feedback from/to local business units, among others reporting of TCO relevant data
  • Provide strong support to commercial business on all levels and local supply chain
  • Promote the Procurement function and CSC requirements locally
  • Define and implement category strategy
  • Share and implement cross-functional best practices across categories and countries
  • Manage regional and local stakeholders on an on-going daily basis
  • Perform category analytics and database management
  • Manage budget process through deep cost structure understanding
  • Co-ordinate and run Supplier Performance reviews, setting and delivering clear value improvement agenda with suppliers / stakeholders.
  • Active involvement in problem solving (i.e. quality issues) and claim handling
  • Review the Service Level Agreement (SLA) annual review of targets for KPIs and subsequently update the SLA
  • Securing volumes and prices according to Group’s Commodity Hedging Policy when applicable

 

Travel Time:

  • Up to 5% within Western Europe & SEB
