Quality Manager

Sinebrychoff is seeking a passionate and experienced Quality Manager to lead and enhance quality processes within our Quality Department. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Kerava.

 

As a Quality Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing quality processes while fostering a culture of excellence through people and performance leadership. Your primary mission is to ensure that our final products meet all Carlsberg Standards, and that Quality culture is part of everyone’s work life.

 

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to overseeing quality management in micro and physical laboratories, new packaging implementation, food safety, and sensory quality. You will ensure adherence to all Carlsberg Quality Systems, standards, and methods while managing the end-to-end quality process from supplier materials to customer distribution. Additionally, you will guarantee compliance with 3PP customers’ standards and implement Sinebrychoff’s sustainability goals, focusing on improvements in energy efficiency, water usage, and CO₂ reduction. Furthermore, you will conduct quality training and provide coaching to functional leaders and their teams to uphold and enhance overall quality performance.

 

The role involves actively coordinating and aligning activities with multiple stakeholders, such as production, packaging, supply chain, maintenance, procurement, legal, controlling and HR. In addition to local stakeholders, Quality Manager serves as an active member of Regional and Global Quality Team and cooperates with external stakeholders, such as Regulatory Agencies and 3rd Party Suppliers and Customers.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure compliance with HSE, food safety, and hygiene standards within the department.
  • Oversee completion and compliance of all required Quality training in line with QA standards and policies.
  • Conduct and approve Quality Control testing for chemical, microbiological, and sensory analyses of raw materials, in-process, and finished products.
  • Serve as the primary contact for external audits and assessments, including ISO, food safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure the Quality Management System is implemented and adhered to across all functions.
  • Establish Quality KPIs for the site in alignment with Country, Regional, and Group targets.
  • Monitor and investigate consumer/customer quality-related complaints as needed.
  • Manage the Quality department’s financial budget (OPEX).
  • Support and advise Functional Heads on Quality improvement projects (OPEX and CAPEX).
  • Drive Carlsberg Excellence development using Lean TPM tools such as GEMBA Walks, Kaizen, SMED, 5S, and root cause analysis.
  • Lead hiring, training, and development initiatives in line with departmental and individual competency plans.
  • Contribute to the senior management team in developing and achieving site strategy and objectives.
  • Implement the company’s sustainability goals, including energy and water efficiency and CO₂ footprint reduction.

 

Key skills and attributes for an ideal candidate

 

  • University degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or related fields.
  • Industry Experience with 10 years in quality or production, preferably in FMCG or food industries.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, regulatory standards, and best practices.
  • Process Management skills with ability to set objectives, plan effectively, and track execution.
  • Leadership skills to foster collaboration and a "one-team" mindset.
  • Understanding of Lean methodology and experience in using Lean tools
  • People and talent development skills to identify and nurture skills within the team.
  • Problem-solving skills with ability to balance big-picture thinking with attention to detail.
  • Adaptability and an innovative mindset to embrace change and to drive continuous improvement.
  • Fluency and excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken. Finnish language skills are seen as an advantage.
