In order to deliver on our new growth culture and Accelerate Sail ‘27 targets, we are accelerating our inorganic agenda and growing our M&A team.  The M&A function at Carlsberg is responsible for setting our Group-wide inorganic strategy and delivering on all inorganic growth initiatives, including acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, and partnerships. 

 

The Director, M&A role will enable us to deliver on this through overseeing M&A projects from origination through to completion; bringing valuation knowledge and the ability to structure transactions creatively; taking charge in setting a negotiation strategy and negotiating successfully; and facilitating collaboration among a diverse group of senior internal stakeholders.

  

What you’ll be doing

 

Leading M&A Projects:

  • Overseeing projects from origination through to execution.
  • Ensuring projects align with strategic goals and deliver desired outcomes.
  • Interrogating business plans and ensuring a rigorous approach to valuation of potential opportunities.

 

Transaction Structuring and Negotiations:

  • Develop creative transaction structures to optimize deal terms, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Setting and implementing effective negotiation strategies to secure favorable terms and conditions.

 

Stakeholder Management:

  • Developing relationships with senior internal stakeholders.
  • Facilitating communication and collaboration across diverse groups.

 

What we’re looking for

 

Experience in M&A:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years experience in M&A, from investment banking, corporate development, or private equity.
  • Extensive international transaction experience.
  • Experience in overseeing M&A initiatives from the initial stages through to completion.

 

Financial Expertise:

  • Financial modeling skills with a deep understanding of valuation techniques.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial modeling and the ability to creatively structure transactions.

 

Negotiation Skills:

  • Strong ability to set and implement negotiation strategies.
  • Skillful in managing complicated transaction negotiations.

 

Educational Background:

  • Solid academic background with a numerical degree from a leading institution (e.g., finance, business, economics).

 

Stakeholder Management:

  • Experience in managing relationships with senior internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

 

Strategic Thinking:

  • Ability to align M&A activities with strategic goals.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.

 

Personal Characteristics:

Other essential characteristics include a resourceful and responsive nature, the ability to handle uncertainty, and the capability to work proficiently within tight timeframes when required. Moreover, high attention to detail, a relationship-oriented focus, and adherence to confidentiality are also crucial elements.
