Senior Manager

In order to deliver on our new growth culture and Accelerate Sail ‘27 targets, we are accelerating our inorganic agenda and growing our M&A team.  The Group M&A function at Carlsberg is responsible for setting our Group-wide inorganic strategy and delivering on all inorganic growth initiatives, including acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, and corporate partnerships.

What you’ll be doing

Getting involved in M&A projects

  • Project-managing M&A projects from start to finish, collaborating with experienced team members.  This includes business case preparation (together with input from the local markets), overall project co-ordination and providing regular updates to stakeholders

Developing our ways of working

  • Building and maintaining a consistent framework for evaluating M&A opportunities from a strategic perspective
  • Developing our M&A ways of working and engaging with the regional and functional teams on these

Group M&A programme management:

  • Maintaining an overview of M&A projects and prospects for the group
  • Helping develop potential targets into live opportunities, through monitoring prospects and putting in place an engagement plan for our Strategic Targets
  • Managing team routines and tools to ensure efficient operations
  • Preparing regular reports for the Executive Committee and Supervisory Board, including materials for the annual Strategy Day

What we’re looking for

The preferred candidate will bring:

  • Some experience in mergers and acquisitions.
  • Highly effective project management skills to oversee and coordinate M&A projects.
  • A solid understanding of valuation techniques and financial principles.
  • An insightful approach to analysing and exploring potential business ventures.
  • Academic background with a numerical degree from a leading institution.

Other characteristics that are important are a responsive approach, adaptability, the ability to work with uncertainty and to work effectively during stressful situations and to tight deadlines when required, high levels of attention to detail, a relationship-focused approach, and a commitment to confidentiality.

Technical M&A expertise and negotiation skills are not critical enablers for this role, but this will be a great growth opportunity for the right candidate to develop these skills.
