What you’ll be doing
You will lead Carlsberg work on CSD and Energy working with the Global Public Affair Director to ensure Carlsberg markets are positioned to engage in political and regulatory debates. In doing so you will develop assets such as position papers strategies for how to manage stakeholders and policy issues across markets.
You will be Carlsberg’s representative towards UNESDA and ICBA and represent Carlsberg in working groups and external meetings. On topics such as sugar and energy you will lead Carlsberg’s work towards stakeholders at both national and EU level. ensuring we have a clear set of policy objectives and that we engage on it.
In your daily work you will serve as an expert on CSD & Energy and related issues on sweeteners and taxation. In cooperation with colleagues from Group Development and Carlsberg Britvic you will deliver business impact assessments on upcoming regulations advising and leading Carlsberg’s response. Further the role also covers educating and providing assets that allows Carlsberg markets to engage in local policy discussions.
Key responsibilities
- Function as policy expert on CSD and Energy products supporting markets on topics such as excise, marketing and availability policies.
- Represent Carlsberg externally towards policy makers and regulators
- Represent Carlsberg in international associations such as UNESDA and ICBA
- Support colleagues in departments such as ESG, Commercial, Marketing, Development & Research on CSD & Energy policy and regulations
- Continuously monitor EU policy agenda and prepare updates to Carlsberg markets and regional leadership.
- Develop and share policy papers and strategic positions with markets as well as run internal trainings
- Prepare meeting briefings for Carlsberg executives
- Work with Responsible Drinking Manager to ensure ESG Strategy and targets are set according accordingly to ESG materiality assessment.
- Support Responsible Drinking Manager with relaunch of ESG Strategy
- Oversee regulatory reporting from markets for Executive and Audit Committee
What we’re looking for
We are looking for an experienced Public Affairs manager (at least 5 years working experience) with a proven track record of:
- Working within a global business or business organization
- Working with government, trade associations and stakeholder relations in an international setting
- Advising internal stakeholders on political and regulatory developments
- Strategic thinking, analysis and long-term execution of policy agendas
- Establishing and driving public affairs agendas across international, regional and market level.
- Experience with building a network internally as well as externally towards stakeholders such as business organizations, politics and government
- Creating the assets to drive a public affairs agenda: position papers, PowerPoint presentations and communicating technical subjects in a clear and easy to understand manor
