Category Manager, Marketing & Sales Procurement
We are looking for a Category Manager – Marketing & Sales Procurement to join our Group Procurement team in Copenhagen and partner closely with our Group Marketing department. This is an exciting opportunity to influence, execute, and optimize procurement strategies for agencies, AV production, design, and events – driving value creation and enabling brand growth across markets.
You will act as a business partner and center of excellence, co-leading supplier negotiations, managing key tenders, and ensuring best-in-class marketing procurement practice within our global organization.
What you will be doing
The role drives value creation through strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, innovation, risk mitigation, and optimization of agency operating models.
Working closely with marketing stakeholders in CCO, support supplier selection, contract negotiations, governance, and performance management to ensure delivery of business objectives, cost efficiencies, quality, and compliance. The role also identifies opportunities to improve marketing effectiveness, leverage emerging technologies, and implement best-in-class procurement practices across the organization.
In this role, you will:
- Serve as Procurement Business Partner to Group Marketing, ensuring alignment of goals and priorities.
- Support the development and execution of marketing procurement strategies alongside Global Category Managers.
- Lead or co-lead major RFX processes, including data collection, supplier evaluation, and contract management.
- Drive value through strategic supplier partnerships, negotiations, and robust performance management.
- Act as a subject matter expert in marketing procurement best practices, supporting key programs such as Marketing for Growth and Funding the Journey.
- Analyze market trends and spend patterns to uncover opportunities for optimization and savings.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Group Legal, Finance, Integrated Supply Chain, and regional procurement teams to drive seamless execution.
What are we looking for
We are looking for a skilled professional with a strong background in marketing procurement who enjoys working in a collaborative and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will bring:
- Solid experience in marketing procurement, marketing, or commercial roles, preferably in an international or FMCG context.
- Proven ability to manage tenders, RFX processes, and supplier negotiations while ensuring value delivery.
- Ability to interpret data, conduct market and spend analysis, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Solid understanding of marketing agency categories such as creative, AV production, design, and events, as well as key value drivers.
- Strong ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with diverse stakeholders across different levels and functions.
- Experience working in cross-functional and multinational teams, with the ability to build positive relationships.
- Structured and methodical approach to planning and execution with attention to detail.
- Openness to learning, flexibility in managing change, and a mindset for continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools; knowledge of SAP or ERP systems is an advantage.
- Fluent English (spoken and written); other language skills are considered helpful.
