Human Rights Manager

Do you want to play a key role in strengthening Carlsberg’s Human Rights program for a global brewer with a unique purpose, leading brands, and an ambitious ESG agenda? Then this might be the role for you.

We are looking for a Manager to join our Group Sustainability team and help drive our commitment to responsibility, accountability, and high ESG standards. As a subject matter expert on human rights, you will lead key workstreams and build strong partnerships across the business to identify and mitigate risks, while accelerating positive impact for people affected by our operations.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will further develop and implement Carlsberg’s approach to human rights, ensuring alignment with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and compliance with key regulations such as the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, the UK Modern Slavery Act, the Norwegian Transparency Act, and the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Law. Working closely with colleagues across our value chain—including procurement, responsible sourcing, corporate affairs, and HR—you will strengthen our human rights program and embed it into our broader ESG strategy.

Your primary tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Managing Carlsberg’s Human Rights program and ensuring implementation of the UN Guiding Principles across the value chain, prioritizing areas with the most severe risks
  • Driving ongoing human rights due diligence, grievance mechanisms, remedy processes, stakeholder engagement, and reporting
  • Monitoring existing and emerging legislation and building internal capacity on human rights
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address salient human rights issues and develop action plans
  • Advising management on human rights trends and actions
  • Engaging with industry peers and stakeholders to identify collaborative opportunities
  • Collecting, managing, and reporting human rights data and other social KPIs
  • Supporting compliance with regulations and responding to customer and stakeholder requests
  • Leading training and capacity building for colleagues across the business

What we’re looking for

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in human rights within a business context
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize effectively
  • Solid understanding of human rights and labor rights standards
  • Experience working across international markets or in a matrix organization is an advantage
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and able to deliver results independently and collaboratively
  • Fluent in written and spoken English

What you can expect

In Carlsberg, we are brewing for a better today and tomorrow, and what we can offer you is an equal opportunity to grow across our company.

All of this is taking place in a culturally diverse environment, where we celebrate our successes together and where no matter where you are from, who you are, or what experiences you bring to the table, all we say is: WELCOME YOU!

If you join our team, some of the benefits you’ll enjoy are:

  • Flexible, hybrid work model
  • Annual bonus based on company and individual performance
  • Unlimited soft drinks and coffee in the office
  • Monthly beer and soft drink allowance
  • Well-equipped and comfortable office in the heart of Carlsberg City District in Valby, Copenhagen
