Operations and Agency Management Director
Director of Operations & Agency Management – Carlsberg Group, Copenhagen
As part of Carlsberg Group’s newly created Creative & Experience team, the Director of Operations & Agency Management will design and implement our new agency partnership model, ways of working, and overall team operational model.
You will be responsible for redefining how Carlsberg partners with agencies, streamlining our roster, deploying, critical MarCom tools and platforms, and orchestrating processes that optimize speed, quality, agility, and prioritization, leading a team of 2 including a Senior Project Manager and a DAM/D2P Manager as well as potential external consultants and under the team moto ‘stay restless, aim higher and push forward’.
This role is perfect for a senior marketing operations and agency management leader who thrives at the intersection of creativity, process excellence, and partnership building.
What you’ll be doing
Agency Model & Partnerships
- Define and implement a new Carlsberg Group Agency model that addresses specific Brands' needs and enables creativity and efficiency
- Streamline and manage the global agency roster (creative, design, experiential, social, production, PR, etc.), ensuring the right mix of partners for both excellence and efficiency
- Build effective partnerships with agency leadership, enhancing collaboration, innovation, and accountability
- Guide the development and deployment of an agency assessment tool, enabling robust evaluation of performance and value creation.
- Own and oversee an agency scope management tool, ensuring transparency, discipline, and alignment with strategic priorities
Tools, Platforms & Processes
- Identify, deploy, and optimise critical MarCom tools and platforms (e.g., Digital Asset Management, Design-to-Print, briefing and workflow systems)
- Ensure these platforms are embedded globally, ensuring adoption, consistency, and measurable impact
- Establish new ways of working that prioritise “fewer, bigger, better” initiatives, aligning resources against the most impactful workstreams
Operations & Effectiveness
- Optimise the Creative & Experience team’s processes, workflows, and governance, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and priorities.
- Elevate speed, agility, and quality of output across campaigns, assets, and experiences
- Champion operational excellence without compromising creative ambition
- Provide senior operational oversight across the team’s portfolio of projects
What we’re looking for
- 15+ years of experience in marketing operations, agency management, or commercial marketing leadership (FMCG/CPG or agency-side)
- Experience in designing and implementing agency models and managing multi-market, multi-discipline agency rosters
- Understanding of marketing and creative operations tools and platforms (DAM, design-to-print, workflow/briefing systems, scope management)
- Skilled at balancing process discipline with creative freedom
- Excellent stakeholder management and persuasive communication abilities – confident engaging senior leaders and agency partners alike
- A strategic, pragmatic, and collaborative leader who thrives in a complex, global environment
- Passion for creativity, effectiveness, and operational excellence
