Print Manager, Brand Design
As part of Carlsberg Group’s newly created Creative & Experience team, the Print Manager will play a pivotal role in driving our creative transformation within the wider marketing transformation for the growth agenda.
Working closely with the Global Head of Design, you will be responsible for the Design-to-Print process inluding Artemis (online artwork approval tool), ensuring that design concepts are successfully translated into high-quality printed materials.
You will contribute significantly to shaping and delivering brand experiences that win the hearts and minds of consumers and support growth, working in close collaboration with our global and local brand teams as well as agency partners.
What you’ll be doing
As a Print Manager, you will have a deep understanding of design principles, strong leadership abilities, and the ability to work cross-functionally to achieve business goals. This role combines design understanding with technical expertise in printing processes, requiring the Print Manager to coordinate between creative teams, production teams, and external vendors to deliver on-time, cost-effective, and visually impactful print products.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining project timelines, ensuring that all deadlines are met without compromising quality.
- Working with Marketing, R&D, and suppliers and other key stakeholders to ensure design solutions are aligned with roadmaps and commercial objectives.
- Acting as a liaison between global and regional teams, ensuring designs are adapted effectively to meet local market preferences while maintaining global brand consistency.
- Reviewing design files (e.g., in Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) to ensure they are print-ready and meet industry standards.
- Working with agency partners on best practices for print production, ensuring designs are optimised for the intended print method (digital, offset, flexo dry-offset, large format, etc.).
- Conducting quality checks on proofs and samples, ensuring that final prints meet or exceed the required standards.
- Ensuring that color consistency and print quality are maintained across different print runs and working to resolve any discrepancies or errors .
- Conducting regular design reviews to ensure quality control and adherence
- Communicating regularly with stakeholders about project status, challenges, and updates.
- Continuously assess the Design-to-Print process to identify inefficiencies or opportunities for improvements in workflow, technology, or vendor relations.
Your daily work will be focused on Efficiency (agreed-upon timeline), Quality (colour consistency), Brand Guideline Usage/Template Adoption (measuring the adoption of official templates and brand guidelines).
What we’re looking for:
To succeed in the role, we imagine that you possess:
- 5+ years in design, production, or print management, preferably in a corporate or agency setting.
- Proven experience working with graphic designers, printers, and vendors.
- Expertise in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
- In-depth understanding of print production processes (digital printing, offset printing, flexo printing, large-format printing, etc.).
- Knowledge of colour theory, resolution, and file types (RGB, CMYK, Pantone, etc.).
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues and find creative solutions.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining high quality under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to work with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Ability to articulate design and production specifications clearly to non-design professionals.
