Scientific Software Developer
Join the Carlsberg Research Laboratory (CRL) in Copenhagen and help us build the software that accelerates scientific discovery. We are rethinking how research is done by embedding software and AI directly into real-world scientific workflows across domains such as chemistry, bioinformatics, sensory science, and machine learning.
What you’ll be doing
You will design and build the systems that power modern research, from data pipelines to AI-enabled tools. You won’t just prototype ideas. You’ll turn them into reliable, production-grade software used by scientists every day.
- Build and own end-to-end scientific software systems
- Develop automation that removes manual research workflows
- Integrate modern AI capabilities into real-world applications
- Work closely with domain experts across sensory science, chemistry, and bioinformatics to translate research needs into scalable software
- Translate complex scientific problems into clean, scalable technical solutions
- Ship quickly, iterate, and continuously improve
What we’re looking for
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience; a PhD is a plus
- Strong foundation in software engineering and system design
- Experience building scalable systems, APIs, and data pipelines
- Familiarity with AI/ML systems and modern AI tools and SDKs
You:
- You have experience building systems from scratch
- Are comfortable working at the intersection of software and real-world experimentation
- Communicate effectively with both engineers and domain experts
- Are excited to learn new scientific domains
- You are comfortable working in evolving problem spaces
What you can expect
You will join a multidisciplinary team working at the intersection of software, AI, and science. You will build systems that reduce manual work, improve reproducibility, and accelerate how quickly research turns into real-world impact. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with domain specialists in the world of bioinformatics, sensory science, chemistry, and machine learning.
You can expect a fixed-term contract for three years.
