As Senior Commercial Cereal Manager, you’ll be responsible for driving cereal innovation and breeding from lab to field — delivering sustainable, high-quality ingredients for our global portfolio of beers and beverages. You’ll lead cutting-edge research, build commercial partnerships, and play a role in our ESG programme Together Towards ZERO and Beyond.
Your Impact
As a key member of the extended leadership team, you will:
- Lead and drive cereal innovations, trait development, and breeding pipelines for malting and brewing cereals.
- Initiate and support commercialisation of raw material innovations (strong focus on roll out of Carlsberg own Barley varieties), ensuring smooth transition from research to Group functions and markets.
- Collaborate with global teams in R&D, Procurement, Supply Chain, ESG, and corporate affairs to deliver sustainable impact across the value chain.
What you’ll be doing:
- Identifying, designing, testing, validating and executing new raw material innovations and technologies.
- Leading the development of sustainable, cost-efficient, and high-quality ingredients for brewing and beyond.
- Managing the innovation lifecycle — from exploratory science to patent strategy and market delivery.
- Driving roll-out of raw material innovations internally and externally.
- Developing business cases and partnerships for commercial opportunities.
- Supporting transition from research projects to scalable industrial applications.
- Leading a high-performing, cross-functional team of scientists, technicians, and commercial specialists
- Fostering collaboration across functions and geographies to bring innovations to life.
- Inspiring a culture of creativity, accountability, and excellence.
What we’re looking for:
- MSc or PhD in Life Sciences, Agribusiness, Engineering, or related fields.
- Proven leadership experience in agrobusiness, breeding, sustainability, or commercial innovation.
- Strong understanding of sustainability and agricultural supply chains.
- Demonstrated success in project management and strategic execution.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
