We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Manager, Corporate Reporting to join our Finance team. In this role, you will ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, group consolidation, statutory compliance, and regulatory reporting while providing financial insights and driving continuous improvements across reporting processes.

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities to ensure timely, accurate, and complete financial reporting.
  • Prepare management reports, group consolidated financial statements, statutory financial statements, and Bursa Malaysia quarterly reporting requirements.
  • Analyse financial results, trends, and variances, providing meaningful insights and commentary to support business performance and decision-making.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations, investigate outstanding items, and ensure timely resolution of reconciling differences.
  • Support the preparation of financial analyses, reports, and presentation materials for the Audit Committee, Board of Directors, and Group reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements, statutory regulations, and Group accounting policies.
  • Coordinate external audit activities by preparing audit schedules, responding to audit queries, and facilitating the timely resolution of audit findings.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders by providing accounting guidance and advice on financial reporting, accounting treatments, and reporting requirements.
  • Drive compliance with the Control Framework for Financial Reporting (CFFR), perform control assessments, and participate in annual inventory counts.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve financial reporting, consolidation, closing processes, system enhancements, and finance automation initiatives while supporting continuous improvement across the finance function.

  • A strong analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to interpret financial data and deliver accurate reporting.
  • A finance professional with strong knowledge of financial reporting, MFRS/IFRS, Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements, statutory reporting, and financial statement preparation.
  • A collaborative communicator who can effectively engage stakeholders, provide accounting advisory, influence constructively, and work closely with cross-functional teams and external auditors.
  • An organised and accountable individual who can prioritise tasks, manage multiple reporting deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with experience in financial reporting process improvements, automation, system enhancements, and strengthening internal controls.
  • Strong technical capabilities in balance sheet reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, financial analysis, variance analysis, and CFFR compliance.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including PivotTables, Power Query, and data analysis, to support reporting efficiency and business insights.
  • A dependable team player with a positive attitude, strong ownership, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results with integrity.

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with a professional accounting qualification.
  • Membership with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) or another recognised professional accounting body in Malaysia.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, Corporate Reporting, or a related field.
  • Experience in financial audit, forecasting, and Bursa Malaysia reporting is an added advantage.
  • Strong command of written and spoken English; proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to perform financial analysis and reporting.
