The Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) in Switzerland integrates a number of central functions in the Carlsberg Group: H&S, Quality, Procurement, Production, Logistics and Planning. Group H&S is developing, communicating and driving an effective coordinated H&S Strategy for ISC and commercial teams. The Senior Manager Value chain Decarbonization Group ISC is to define and implement the company's sustainability strategy, goals, and programs to decrease carbon footprint from value chain emissions, define and implement low carbon practices and projects for services, direct materials.
This role is integral to the company's commitment to driving and implementing direct materials and services sustainability initiatives and engagement programs with suppliers. The person in the position will collaborate with cross-functional and regional teams to integrate sustainability into daily operations and drive positive environmental impact - focusing on scope 3 emissions.
The position will be based in 8866 Ziegelbrücke (greater area Zurich), Switzerland. The required skills & competencies to succeed in this role are:

Education & Experience:
- 8+ years’ experience in Supply Chain, preferably in FMCG companies, food and beverage. Profound understanding and knowledge of decarbonization mechanisms and levers.
- Deep technical expertise and work experience with preparation and implementation of decarbonization roadmaps for scope 1, 2, 3: ability to propose and identify specific decarbonization levers, prepare and confirm the methodology to calculate of abatement and estimating the costs – specific focus on logistics, cooling, raw and pack materials purchased.
- Knowledge of supply chain (from farm to fork) processes and mechanisms, especially the interdependencies between sourcing of goods, services, production, up- and down- stream, owned and outsourced services into CO2e emissions
- In-depth knowledge of decarbonization trends, industry best practices and proven experience in delivering CO2e emissions reduction across value chain. Focus on logistics, sourced direct materials and services
- Strong understanding of international environmental regulations and standards, safety standards, and sustainable practices applicable for direct materials and services decarbonization.
- In-depth expertise in GHG accounting and application of the GHG standard into scope 1,2,3 emissions decarbonization programs. Technical expertise allowing development and refinement of CO2e abatement monitoring. Ability to model and estimate CO2e reductions from the programs and projects identified.
- Knowledge of industry practices and programs related to logistics decarbonization
- Experience in beer, food and beverage manufacturing or similar industry.
- Ability to engage and influence within a complex business environment.
- Ability to work in a matrix organization and understand value of multilevel structures.
- Ability to create standards, processes and approaches that allow to manage remotely.

Job responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive decarbonization roadmap for logistics related emissions and contribute to roadmap development of value chain emissions coming from purchased goods and services (focus on packaging, cooling), aligned with the company’s short and long-term strategies and objectives. Prepare the budget required for the roadmap delivery. Support roadmap creation for direct materials (raw materials and packaging materials).
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define the decarbonization roadmaps, agree them and implement them as part of the company's sustainability strategy, goals, and programs to decrease carbon footprint across value chain.
- Work closely with suppliers, service providers, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, Group Development, Marketing and ISC teams to identify emerging trends of in scope 3 decarbonization, best practices for sustainable and low carbon sourcing. All programs and projects in full compliance with regulations relevant to the industry.
- Collaborate with suppliers and service providers to drive their engagement, support building their capabilities and technical knowledge and measure their performance.
- Engage internal and external stakeholders to build scale and drive decarbonization agenda: low carbon, regenerative agriculture programs.
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs), methodology to measure CO2e abatement and track progress. Prepare the acceleration plan if needed.
